Created in 2016, Bandeyra Nacional is an LGBTQ+ rendition of the Brazilian flag that celebrates diversity.
After its creation, the flag started a movement of its own, flying in homes, parades and even a major museum. The flag challenges the national emblems, exposing the tensions between the call for representation versus the entrenched national values.
Bandeyra seeks to celebrate the collective and universal queer community's aspirations. This hope transcends the advocacy for individual welfare, extending to a broader horizon where difference is celebrated and crucial for a better world.
